Complex has dubbed 1987 as the greatest year in the history of Nike’s existence. That’s a pretty big statement to make for a company that’s 4 decades deep in the game but of course they wouldn’t make claims like this without evidence to back it up. Compliments of ClassicKicks they have obtained a few scans of a 1987 Nike catalog and it does in fact show that this was the year that Nike took a few well-paying risks. From the lifestyle infused Air Safari model, the introduction of the Nike Air Max 1 or the crucial removal of the swoosh from the Air Jordan II this was certainly a major turning point in history.
